Clifford Z. Roehr

Clifford Z. Roehr, 74, passed away Dec. 17, 2009.

He was born Sept. 17, 1935, in Albuquerque, N.M.

He and his wife both retired from federal civil service in October 1990, and fulfilled their dream of traveling the United States in their motor home.

He was a veteran, having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a resident of Pahrump for eight years.

Cliff is survived by his wife, La Vonne Roehr of Pahrump; sons Steven and Ronald Roehr of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

According to Cliff's wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (12/17/2009)

Terry Ray Folk

Terry Ray Folk, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at his home in Pahrump.

Terry was born June 19, 1946, in Cumberland, Md., and had lived and worked in Las Vegas and Pahrump since 1958.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Wanda Folk.

Terry served honorably in the United States Navy (Vietnam) aboard the USS Weise from 1964 to 1968, and was a life-long member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Terry held valuable memberships in both the Pahrump Kiwanis Club and Pahrump Elk Lodge 2796. He was also a member of the Las Vegas Board of Realtors and was the owner and broker of Legacy Trails Realty, which served the Pahrump, Las Vegas and Ely communities.

Terry was a man of great integrity, demonstrated a strong work ethic, and lived by a personal code of generosity, honesty and kindness. Though some may have perceived him as quiet and reserved, Terry was a man of great depth and substance. He loved his wife Patty and his family, including his many grandchildren, and did many kind and noble things for them.

He also loved his dogs, including Duchess, Zoe, Missy and Rosey. Terry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Terry is survived by his wife Patty Folk of Pahrump, his daughter Jolene (Robert) Chertok and grandson Brandon of Las Vegas, and by his brothers Howard, Tom and Jerry Folk of Las Vegas.

He is also survived by his stepson Chuck (Lisa) Cauwel and grandchildren Jennifer, Cassaundra, Christian and Andrew of Henderson, and by his step-daughter Anna (Gregory) Webb, and grandchildren Erik, Christopher, Olivia, Natalie and Grace of Orem, Utah.

Memorial Services will be held at noon, Monday, Jan. 4 at the VFW Post 10054 (4651 South Homestead Road in Pahrump). A luncheon will be served following the services.

Terry will be buried at the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice. (2128/2009)

Samantha Leeann Chase

Samantha Leeann Chase, 17, passed away Dec. 19, 2009, in Pahrump.

She was born Dec. 22, 1991, in Springfield, Ore., and was a resident of Pahrump for 13 years.

Samantha loved art, music and dancing.

She is survived by her father Ronald Brian Chase of Riverside, Calif.; mother April Renee Chase of Fontana, Calif.; brothers Ronald Brian Chase III of Springfield and Matthew Alexander Chase of Las Vegas and sister Raelynn Marie Chase of Las Vegas.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help find a cure for childhood diabetes. (12/19/2009)

Doris Leas

Doris Leas, 87, passed away Dec. 16, 2009.

She was born June 23, 1922, in Kewanee, Ill., and was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gerald Leas.

A devoted mother and wife, Doris graduated from high school in 1942 and moved to Las Vegas in 1970, where she ran an apartment complex before retiring to Pahrump in 1984.

Doris loved bingo, lunching with her friends, family time, camping and general home life.

She is survived by sons Russell Leas of California and Jack (Lori) Leas of Las Vegas and daughter Rosalind (Ron) Kintzler of Pahrump.

She loved and nurtured six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Jan. 4 in the Lee Funeral Home chapel.
