Parker wins Paddy's 300

AMARGOSA VALLEY -- Jim Parker won the Paddy's Pub 300, a micro-sprints feature, on the one-third mile dirt oval at Death Valley Raceway Saturday.

Erroll Sharron was second, with Gene Sharron, Bill Rondeau and Eddie Sharron also starting. Unable to make the main event were Erin Sharron, John Hawkins, Ed Wheeler, Gabi Disznos and Tony Sharron.

Parker earned $300 -- courtesy of Paddy's Pub -- for his victory.

Erroll Sharron and Gene Sharron won micro heat races.

Rick VanBuytene won the super stock main, with Dale Daffern second, Jake Snowden third and Pete Wallace fourth. Daffern was the heat winner.

Jason Pike was first in the IMCA modified feature. Robert Smotherman was second, with Jim Maddox third and Terri Little fourth. Smotherman won the prelim.

Death Valley Raceway has three dates remaining on the schedule listed on the track's Web site.

Competition moves to 1 p.m. for each of those events: Oct. 3, Oct. 17 and Nov. 7.

The mini stocks, super stocks, modifieds and coupes will be featured Oct. 3. The minis, supers, modifieds, coupes, micro sprints and Dwarf cars compete Oct. 17.

On Nov. 7, the minis, supers, coupes, Dwarf cars and modifieds will race.
