The Pahrump Valley Times wants to know about your event. Tell us if you're having a concert, live music, outdoor movies, parties, art shows etc., and we will help you make it known. Free airplane rides for kids The fifth annual Young Eagles event will offer free airplane rides to youth ages 8 through 17 from 8:45 a.m. to about 1 p.m., Oct. 3 at the north end of the Calvada Aeropark, Highway 160 and Simpkins Road. The event is sponsored by chapter 1160 Experimental Aircraft Association in cooperation with chapter 1300 of Las Vegas. Parents or guardians must accompany the youth for the time they are in attendance. Cold water and soft drinks will be available for purchase. National Public Lands Day A volunteer native seed planting will be held in the Ash Meadows Wildlife Refuge to commemorate National Public Lands Day Sept. 26. Be seen with the rodeo queens The rodeo queens, Andrea Lynch (Miss Rodeo Nevada) and Madison Hughes (Miss Teen Nevada) will be available for autographs and photographs from 5 to 6 p.m., Sept. 25 by the pool at Saddle West. Singles Club schedule The Pahrump Singles Friendship Club will meet at the following times and places during the month of September. Haven Selah benefit concert Haven Selah, having suffered damage to the meeting building in a recent fire, is seeking donations of help with the restoration work. The Fuller/Haven Fire Fund has been set up at Bank of America for cash donations. There will be a fundraiser potluck dinner at 5 p.m., Oct. 10, followed by a harp concert featuring Susan Zink and Marilyn Gamble at 6:30 p.m., on the site, 1680 N. Republican Women fashion show The Pahrump Valley Republican Women will host the annual fashion show beginning at noon Oct. 24 at the Pahrump Nugget events center. Doors will open at 11:30. The fundraiser funds the group's charities including, home-bound senior baskets, child haven, the Mammovan, college scholarships and more. The event is being held during breast cancer awareness month to show further support. Call 751-8258 for more information. Book signing Leslie Dening will be signing copies of her book, "Struggling Within," a fictional of life's experiences when looking for love while coping with abuse, at 11 a.m. Oct. 10 at the Pahrump Community Library. Shoshone Old West Days Shoshone, Calif., will host the annual Old West Days, Oct. 30 through Nov. 1. There will be a deep-pit barbecue, history talks, festivities and vendors. Farmers' market The weekly farmers' market will continue 7 a.m. to noon, Saturdays through the summer at the Bob Ruud Community Center. Free bridge lessons Learn to play bridge or pick it up again.
