Berger wins Pirate 350 at DVRPVT
AMARGOSA VALLEY -- Donny Berger won the Pirate Racing 350 Classic Coupe feature Saturday night, at the Death Valley Raceway here. Berger earned $350 for the victory, achieved against Frank Bridwell, on the one-third mile dirt oval. Justin Berger was third, followed by Terry Hiser, Michael Hildebrand, Robert Pearson and Steve Figgins (who lost an engine in a heat race). Coupe heat winners were Berger and Pearson. In the mini-stock main, G. Verne was first, with John Burch second. Mike Riefler was third, with Anthony Broadhead fourth, Cassandra Martin fifth and Jonathan Burch sixth. Verne also won the heat race. Mike Lysinger won the super stock feature, beating Jake Snowden to the checkered flag. John Pietrazio Jr. was third, with Rick VanBuytene and Pete Wallace completing the grid. Lysinger was first in the prelim. Mark Dillie outraced Blake Olsen to the Dwarf car win in the feature. Bobby Meek was third, with Scott Kelley, Mike Bean, Troy Seymore and Chance Damron trailing. Kelley and Dillie won the heats. In the 10-car IMCA modified feature, Ryan Cotrell was first, with Joe Kent second. Ronnie Williams, Jason Pike and Keith Gott completed the first five. Terri Little was sixth, followed by Jim Maddox, Ryan Pike, Jerry Buesig and Jeff Mitchell. Pike and Cotrell won the heat races. In the Pirates Racing raffle, Roland Kent, who owns three IMCA modifieds, won the race-head mini-stock that was the prize. Death Valley Raceway returns to action Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m. |
