Lady Trojans second in Sunset 4-A match

The Pahrump Valley girls golf team plays at home Thursday against its former Southern Nevada Class 3-A League rivals, starting at 11 a.m. at Mountain Falls.

Las Vegas Faith Lutheran (now in the Sunset Region Northwest 4-A Division) will compete, along with Boulder City, Mesquite Virgin Valley and Overton Moapa Valley.

It will be the fourth match of the season for coach Julie Floyd and her team.

Today, the Lady Trojans are at Rhodes Ranch to play Southwest 4-A opponents; the first tee is at 11 a.m.

Monday, the Trojans played at Siena against their 4-A rivals Bishop Gorman, Spring Valley, Desert Oasis, Bonanza, Clark, Durango and Sierra Vista. Western does not have a team.

Pahrump Valley was second with 214, while Gorman was first with 192. Spring Valley had 216, Desert Oasis 245, Bonanza 256, Clark 279, Sierra Vista 254 and Durango 266.

For the Trojans, Sierra Fitzgibbons had 48, Shyanna dixon 50, Brittani DiNicola 56, Emilynne Biggs 60, Danielle Altiero 65 and Rebeka Bindermin 66.

Gorman was led by the 45 of Nicole Corpus. Jo Jo Tice had 48, Allia Arguello 45, Nicolette Rivera 51, Kelly Horrell 54 and Amanda York 58.

Julia Graham had 46 for Spring Valley, which had Alyssa Wilson shoot 51, Ashley Arisue 54, Lauren Penzik 65, Jackie Endsley 69 and Leslie Carroll 71.

Morgan Hughes led Desert Oasis with 54; Michelle Miller had 52 for Bonanza; Lisa Ko and Shawn Potratz had 69 each for Clark, Jennifer Kerbs paced Durango with 61 and Marille had 51 for Sierra Vista. Clark, Durango and Sierra Vista did not field full teams Monday.

In a match at Palm Valley Thursday, Faith Lutheran got 77 from Annie Freeman and 79 from Ashley Lacher, while Pahrump Valley had Dixon shoot 106, Fitzgibbons 101 and Altiero 108.

Indiana Mead had 93 for Boulder City.

Pahrump Valley will be in action twice next week, traveling to Falcon Ridge (Mesquite) Thursday and playing Costa Mesa, Calif., Friday at Mountain Falls.
