For the second time in as many seasons in Class 4-A volleyball, Pahrump Valley's girls have qualified for the Sunset Regional playoffs.

Who the Trojans will play was determined Thursday night, when the regular season ended with PVHS playing at Las Vegas Spring Valley.

The Trojans were 10-5 in the Southwest Division, 18-12 in all matches, while the Grizzlies were 1-14, 1-14.

Pahrump Valley moved into a tie with Bonanza for third place after beating the visting Bengals 25-11, 25-27, 25-23, 25-19 Tuesday. Almost everything has been cleared up, but two Thursday matches determined the remainder of the 4-A postseason schedule.

Bishop Gorman (15-0) will be the top seed from the league. Sierra Vista (13-2) clinched the No. 2 seed.

Bonanza had to beat Sierra Vista Thursday to get the No. 3 seed. Regardless of Pahrump Valley's outcome against Spring Valley, if the Bengals win, they're the No. 3 seed. If they lose, Pahrump would be the No. 3 and Bonanza the No. 4.

On Tuesday, the Southwest's No. 4 seed will visit Palo Verde; the Southwest's No. 3 seed will be at Centennial; Faith Lutheran travels to Sierra Vista; and Shadow Ridge visits Bishop Gorman.

The Web site, nevadapreps.com, did a breakdown on the four leagues heading into the final night of regular season play.

Sunset Region

Northwest Division

One league match still remained for a handful of teams in the Northwest, but the playoff spots are all settled.

Palo Verde (15-1) won the league outright and is the No. 1 seed. Centennial (13-2) will be the No. 2 seed as it swept third-place Faith Lutheran (13-3). Shadow Ridge (9-6) claimed the final spot.

Southwest Division

Here's where the only question mark remains, and it's about placement, not whether or not a team gets in.

Bishop Gorman (15-0) will be the top seed from the league. Sierra Vista (13-2) has clinched the No. 2 seed. Pahrump Valley and Bonanza will be the Nos. 3 and 4 seeds, depending on what happened Thursday.

Sunrise Region

Northeast Division

Las Vegas is back to its normal spot atop the league after settling for fourth place due to some forfeits last year.

The Wildcats (14-0 in the Northeast) finished a perfect league campaign Wednesday and have earned the league's No. 1 seed.

Valley (12-2) is the No. 2 seed for the first time since 2001.

Rancho (9-5) secured the No. 3 seed, with Eldorado (8-6) claiming the No. 4 spot.

Southeast Division

Silverado needed to win only two games against Green Valley on Wednesday to clinch the Southeast's No. 1 seed.

The Skyhawks (14-0) did that one better, downing the Gators to win the league title outright.

Green Valley (12-2) is the No. 2 seed. Coronado (10-4) claims the No. 3 spot.

Basic, despite a loss to Coronado on Wednesday, held on to finish in fourth at 6-8.

On Tuesday, Basic will visit Las Vegas; Coronado travels to Valley; Rancho is at Green Valley; and Eldorado is at Silverado.

Semfinals are Nov. 5 at Silverado with the championship match set for Nov. 6, also at Silverado.

The state tournament for all classes is Nov. 13-14 at Silverado.

NOTES -- Rosemary Clarke Middle School's volleyball teams dominated its own invitational tournament last weekend ... The Sharks' A-team, 20-6 on the season, went 8-0 in the tournament, with wins against Faith Lutheran, Las Vegas Day School, Tonopah (two), Lake Mead Christian Academy, Pahranagat Valley Alamo (two) and Ely White Pine ... The B-team swept Tonopah, Lake Mead Christian Academy (two), Alamo and White Pine (two).
