Pahrump Steel license revoked

A steel reinforcing and erection license for Steel Structures and Supply Inc. dba Pahrump Steel was revoked by the Nevada State Contractors Board last Wednesday.

Dick Johnson, manager of Nye County building safety and code compliance, filed a stop work order against the company Nov. 18, 2008, for failing to obtain a building permit for a project at 300 N. Highway 160.

A second complaint charged the company with failing to prove financial responsibility to the contractor's board.

The board decision cited state law which requires a licensee who is subject to disciplinary proceedings to submit a financial statement prepared by a certified public accountant or submitted on a form with an affidavit which verifies the accuracy of the statement.

Steel Structures and Supply Inc. failed to file an answer or pleading to the charges by Aug. 31. The company's license was revoked by default.

Steel Structures and Supply lists an address of 2891 W. Mesquite Ave. The officers include Larry Walter Young, president, Neal Lyle Nicholson, vice-president and Melissa Ann Wilson, secretary-treasurer.

A phone number listed for Pahrump Steel is the same listing for Young. It was disconnected.
