Senior Christmas trip

Pahrump Senior Center will host a trip to Laughlin Dec. 8, 9 and 10.

The bus will depart Wulfy's parking lot at noon Dec. 8 with a sack lunch provided.

The group will spend Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Edgewater Hotel, which will include one buffet.

Thursday, the bus will head to Railroad Pass for a four-hour layover, which includes a complimentary buffet. Then it's on to Sunset Park and Henderson to tour the Christmas light displays.

The group arrives back in Pahrump around 8 p.m. Thursday evening.

Tickets ate $65 per person and reservations must be made and paid by Dec. 3.

Pahrump Gunfighters

Pahrump Gunfighters will be performing western skits and reenactments at 1 p.m., Nov. 29 at Dusty Flats, 100 W. Stagecoach Road.

Art reception

The traveling show presented by PAC and the Nevada Arts Council is open at the Courthouse Gallery.

The artist's reception will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Dec. 4.

Refreshments will be served. The show, "Stop the Car Dad!" is a photographers journey along Nevada highways.

Festival of Trees Gala

The Festival of Trees will culminate in the gala event scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., Dec. 5 in the Pahrump Nugget Events Center.

There will be cocktails and a silent auction. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. The Boltons will provide live entertainment.

Silver Tappers benefit

Nevada Silver Tappers will perform the 19th annual holiday benefit show at 3 or 9 p.m., Dec. 6 in the Saddle West Showroom.

Singles Club schedule

The Pahrump Singles Friendship Club will meet at the following times and places during the month of November and December.

Dec. 11 -- 4 p.m., Pahrump Cafe, host number TBA.

Holiday Lights Christmas Parade

The third annual Holiday Lights Christmas Parade is scheduled for 5 p.m., Dec. 12 around the Calvada Eye.

Cars will line-up at 4 p.m. at Honeysuckle Park. RVs, vans, cars, trucks and other licensed vehicles are welcome to light them up and join the parade.

Entry fees are $20 or $10 with a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys For Tots program.

Car clubs and large group entries will be asked to donate one toy per vehicle.

Book Signing

Sue McClish Melton, author of, "Facts... Nothing but Facts," will hold two book signing event.

The book is a time-line history of the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad.

Pahrump-A-Pum-Pum

The Pahrump-A-Pum-Pum Winter Wonderland will be held Dec. 8 through Dec. 13 at the Pahrump Nugget.

There will be fun indoors and activies outdoors, visits with Santa, a carnival, two choirs, two plays, performances by local children and it benefits a great cause.

The schedule of events will be as follows:

Dec. 8 -- Gospel Choir, 6 p.m.;

Dec. 9 -- Pahrump Arts Council Choir, 6 p.m.;

Dec. 10 -- Day Care Center Visit With Santa, 6:30 p.m.;

Dec. 11 -- Craft sale, noon to 6 p.m.; Carnival, noon to 8 p.m.; Pahrump-A-Pum-Pum, 4-6 p.m.; Holiday play: Visit With Santa, 7 p.m.

Dec. 12 -- Lions Club breakfast, 8 a.m. to noon; Craft sale, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Carnival, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Pahrump-A-Pum-Pum, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; "Twas the Night Before Christmas," 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; performance by Hafen Elementary School, 4 p.m. visit with Santa;

Dec. 13 -- holiday play, 2 p.m., Craft sale, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Carnival, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Pahrump-A-Pum-Pum, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visit with Santa.

Admission is a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots or $5 per family.

Scrabble players

Adults and teens wanting to play Scrabble on Sundays or possibly evenings in an accessible location should call 727-4911 and leave a message with day and evening numbers for a return call.

Santa at Northfield Ranch

Northfield Ranch, Therapy with Animals will host Santa's visit for special needs individuals from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 12, at the ranch, 3140 N. Garrison St.

There will pictures with Santa and refreshments.

The ranch will be decorated by Design and Home Stagers of Nevada.

Admission is free, donations gratefully accepted.
