All People's Breakfast

The eighth annual All People's Breakfast, sponsored by the Pahrump Nugget and Church of the Harvest is seeking community support to help fund the MLK Scholarship Fund. We need ads for the souvenir book, items to auction and gift baskets and certificates for use as door prizes.

Tickets will be $10 and will benefit the scholarship fund.

Book Signing

Sue McClish Melton, author of, "Facts... Nothing but Facts," will hold two book signing events.

Nov. 28 -- Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church, 9 a.m., fundraiser for Pahrump Valley Model Railroad Club;

Dec. 5 -- 10:30 a.m., Pahrump Community Library.

The book is a time-line history of the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad.

Nye Republicans Christmas party

Nye County Republicans will have the annual Christmas party Dec. 18 at Saddle West. Tickets are $30.

Christmas carols and chocolate

There will be a benefit concert for Mavis Wallace at 3 p.m. Dec. 20 in the Bob Ruud Community Center.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Ace Hardware, Secret Sister Boutique and Shadow Mountain Feed.

Wallace, a music teacher for 11 years in Pahrump schools, was diagnosed with breast cancer and the benefit is to help defray medical expenses.

Local music students will perform a holiday concert.

Thanksgiving Day service

St. Martin's in the Desert Episcopal Church will have a Thanksgiving Day services at 9:30 a.m., Nov. 26 at the church, 631 W. Irene St.

Friends of the Library meet

Pahrump Friends of the Library will meet at 9:15 a.m., Dec. 5 in the conference room.

Dan Rodriguez will speak on surviving tough economic climates in business.

Las Vegas Church outreach

Las Vegas Church, established in 1984, is conducting an outreach to rural communities.

Those who are curious, seeking a new church or fellowship should know the church meets from 10 a.m. to noon, Sundays.

Red Hat 'Holiday Spectacular'

The Red Hat "Holiday Spectacular" will be at 11 a.m., Dec. 11 at the Pahrump Nugget.

Thanksgiving community dinner

Thanks to many churches, organizations and casinos, there will be a community Thanksgiving dinner from 1 to 3 p.m., Nov. 26 in the Bob Ruud Community Center.

Entertainment will be provided by "Wings of Love."

Coats will be distributed to those in need.

Delivery of meals to shut-ins is offered by calling Stephanie Boseck, 727-4526, and leaving your name, address and a phone number.

Filipino-American Christmas party

The Filipino-Americans of Nye County will have a Christmas party beginning with a no-host bar at 6 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m., Nov. 12 at Saddle West.

Senior Center Thanksgiving

Pahrump Senior Center, thanks to Advance Medical, Dr. Pejman Bady and Precious Care Private Agency, will host a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 25 at the Senior Center, 1370 W. Basin Ave.
