Out of the playroom and into the Klozet
By MARIE WUJEK
When Kellie Greenup moved to Pahrump from Las Vegas, she realized immediately that Pahrump was lacking in various and unique types of retail stores. A mother of seven, Kellie decided to fill one of those needed shopping outlets she enjoyed in Las Vegas by opening a variety store specializing in new and gently used clothes, furniture and accessories for babies and children of all ages. She opened her store, appropriately named Kidz Klozet, at 1971 Pahrump Valley Blvd., Suite A. Open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the store carries a large variety of baby and children's furniture including cribs, toddler beds, strollers, high chairs, baby carriers and other various items. There are also racks of clothing in sizes to fit newborns to teens. All clothes, toys and other items are cleaned, sanitized and inspected prior to going into the sales inventory. Any item that fails Greenup's standards is put aside to go into Saturday's free bin. With new items arriving daily and Christmas clothing now coming in, each trip into the store is like a new and exciting experience. Kids Klozets offer a rental program for those needing baby furniture and items for a short time, a convenient layaway program, plus every Saturday she offers a free bin or table with clothing and other items. Greenup understands that babies and kids tend to outgrow clothing, toys and furniture long before those items wear out. A great believer in recycling, Kellie wants her business to benefit everyone in Pahrump, especially with the current economy. She buys, sells and trades merchandise, has new items daily, and offers one item as "the deal of the day." |
