Lawrence W. Werner

Lawrence W. Werner, 77, passed away Nov. 17, 2009, in Pahrump.

He was born Dec. 1, 1931, in New York, and was a resident of Pahrump for seven years, having come from California.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954.

Larry loved to ride his motorcycle, hike and travel the country.

He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Werner of Pahrump; sons Lawrence Werner II and Loren Werner, both of Texas, John Shane and Roger Erdmann, both of Washington; daughter Shelia Weissberger of California; two brothers and two sisters and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Nov. 24 in Pahrump Family Mortuary Chapel. (11/17/2009)

Herbert Hanson

Herbert "Buck" Hanson, born Aug. 6, 1930, passed away Nov. 13, 2009, at age 79, in Pahrump.

He was surrounded by loving family and friends.

Buck led a full and diverse life. His career path led him through law enforcement in Wyoming; mining and a variety of occupations in the Salt Lake City, Utah area.

He had many hobbies and passions and was well known for his skill at detailed leatherwork.

He joined the family of Christ in 1998. Later, he became an integral member of New Hope Fellowship, where he was a loved and faithful servant alongside his wife Colleen "Cooki" Hanson.

Buck won the battle against lung cancer in 1999, but subsequently fell to yet another fight with cancer.

He has been called to his eternal home in the presence of the Lord and Savior. His family celebrates his freedom from this temporary life and awaits their reunion in heaven.

Buck was the third of 11 children.

He is survived by his wife Cooki; children Barbara Bloodworth, Brett Hanson, Brad Hanson, Debbie Marnan and Cheryl Horowitz; siblings Harry (Bud) Hanson, Arch Hanson, Leslie Hanson, Soren Hanson, Alva Hanson, Elma (Sis) Hatcher and Laura Tackett; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

After meeting his wife in 1994, Buck became a cherished and much needed Grandpa to six of those grandchildren, which included three who were lucky enough to live right across the street. Hannah, Logan and Nick shared a very special bond with their grandpa and he will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hanson, and brother Lorrian.

A Memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Nov. 21 at New Hope Fellowship. (11/13/2009)
