![]() Luana Lee Miller Luana Lee Miller passed away Oct. 29, 2009. She was born Oct. 29, 1946, in Downey, Calif., and spent most of her life in Parker, Ariz. She was a resident of Nevada since 1996 and moved to Pahrump in 2006. Luana was employed by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as a senior law enforcement specialist technician. She is survived by her husband Ray Miller, three children and four grandchildren. A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m., Nov. 12 at Sierra Gold, 6515 S. Jones Blvd., in Las Vegas. (10/29/2009)
Raymond Floyd Cummings Raymond Floyd Cummings, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, parted from us surrounded by family as God lifted him gently into His arms Nov. 3, 2009. He was born July 10, 1934, in Kellerville, Texas, and met the love of his life, June Wyvonna Shaw, who survives him. As they shared 58 years of marriage, together they have raised five children: Debbie (Dave) Timbrel, of Battle Mountain; Terry (Coy) Cummings, of Elko; Deana (Mike) Cleveland, of Carlin; Tracy (Audrey) Cummings, of Elko; and Darla Cauley (Ed Lazzari), of Amherst, N.H. The children gave him 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Lois Lomenick, of Hereford, Texas, and Norma Dement, of Amarillo, Texas. Throughout Raymond's life, he worked in the mining industry and resided in numerous locations throughout New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado. He made his final home in Pahrump. Raymond enjoyed many hobbies such as hunting, fishing, gardening and painting. He liked to pass time visiting with family and watching favorite TV shows. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. (11/03/2009)
Varney Fellows Varney Douglas "Poppy" Fellows, 71, of Pahrump passed away Nov. 7, 2009. He was a 24-year resident of Nevada. He was born April 19, 1938, in Hartford, Conn., to Douglas and Katherine Fellows. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran serving in the Navy "Seabees" for 20 years. He worked as construction foreman and then later was employed by Nevada Ready Mix until retirement. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW and DAV. His loving wife Joan "Gogo" Fellows, three stepchildren, numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. Services will be held at noon on Nov. 11 (Veterans Day), at Palm Mortuary located at 1325 N. Main Street, Las Vegas. Viewing will follow at 1 p.m. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. (11/07/2009) Ian Grant Hall Ian Grant Hall, 83, passed away Nov. 6, 2009, in Pahrump. He was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Montreal, Canada, and was a resident of Pahrump for 13 years, having come from Henderson. He was a veteran of the Canadian Merchant Marines during World War II. Grant loved woodworking, old movies and Dixieland music. He was a retired paint foreman from the Nevada Test Site and of the Christian faith. Grant is survived by his wife Phyllis, of Pahrump; daughters Laura Wood, of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Karen Larcom, of Henderson; son Glenn, of Nashville, Tenn.; brother Douglas, of Rochester, N.Y., and four grandchildren. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. (11/06/2009) |
