VEA heater program could resume soonPVT
Valley Electric Association expects to be able to move forward with the solar hot water heater program in Pahrump after ironing out details of the inspection process with Nye County officials over the next week or two, VEA Marketing Manager Staci Behnke said Wednesday. Valley Electric Association Chief Executive Officer Tom Husted repeatedly asked for specifics on a county resolution passed Tuesday. Behnke said VEA is doing home site visits and installing the solar hot water heaters in Amargosa Valley and Sandy Valley in the meantime, areas outside the Pahrump Regional Planning District. "We're working with the county right now. They're sending us some information. Like Tom said, the devil's in the details. Before we move forward, we want to make sure we're on the same page," Behnke said. "We have our details put together, their details, so we don't run into any more issues in the future. We only anticipate another week or two hopefully to complete that, then we'll move forward. It depends on what the details are. They did pass the resolution that is great. It was pretty general," she said. VEA has received requests from over 800 people who want a site visit, the first step to getting a solar hot water system installed. |
