VEA, Nye exchange barbs
Both Valley Electric Association Chief Executive Officer Tom Husted and Nye County commissioners were steamed up Tuesday, and it wasn't because they were immersed in a solar-powered water heater.

Solar project squeezed by area plan
TONOPAH -- Solar Millenium officials said the Amargosa Valley area plan would interfere with the siting of their two, 250-megawatt, solar power plants, but Nye County commissioners said they would negotiate a development agreement with the company, superseding the area plan approved Tuesday.


Court allocates funding for new hospital access
The paving of a northern entrance to Desert View Hospital was approved by Nye County commissioners Tuesday, but not a right-turn only sign at Oxbow and Wilson avenues at the junction with Highway 160.

VEA heater program could resume soon
Valley Electric Association expects to be able to move forward with the solar hot water heater program in Pahrump after ironing out details of the inspection process with Nye County officials over the next week or two, VEA Marketing Manager Staci Behnke said Wednesday.
