The Pahrump Valley Community Action Team and the Nevada Country Music Association, Nye County chapter are collaborating to bring the second annual Hoedown as an event for the family.

The StageStop Lounge and Casino on Blagg Road has plenty of room on the grounds to stage the event.

The hoedown will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a variety of activities for everyone.

Live music provided by Dave Yoder, Paublo Encinias, Chuck Jeffries and Midnight Country will be performed on the outdoor stage.

Performances by the High Desert Line Dancers, the Sun Country Cloggers and the Pahrump Gunfighters will also be staged throughout the day.

Charlie Elefante and Encinias, will fire up the grill for hamburger and hot dog platters which will include chips and a drink.

The culmination of the event has all been through community participation or donations of food, ice, entertainment and raffle prizes.

Donna Lee Laduke will emcee and in between the entertainment, she will be drawing raffle tickets. Some of the prizes to be given away are a gold panning kit from Gotta Getta Map. Pahrump Valley Air has donated $50 off air conditioning service.

Papa Willie's, Wulfy's, Saitta-Trudeau, B's Embroidery, State Farm, Precious Looks Salon, Nevada State Bank, Martinizing Dry Cleaning and others have donated gift certificates or services. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

The StageStop will have an outdoor bar set up to sell beer and CMA will have sodas and water.
