Soroptimist's Bunco Night

Soroptimist of Pahrump Valley will have a Bunco Night for ladies only at 6:30 p.m. May 30 in the Charleston Peak RV Clubhouse.

This event is fun, fast-paced and easy to learn. Prizes will be awarded. Wine and soft drinks will be available.

The cost is $3 per person.

Gold-panning class

Nye Gold Seekers will host a gold-panning class 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 31 in the parking lot of Hollywood Plaza, 321 S. Frontage Road, in front of Gotta Getta Map.

Experienced gold seekers will teach attendees how to successfully separate gold particles from sand.

Keep the gold for a small fee or put it back in the sand and try again.

Singles Friendship Club schedule

The Pahrump Singles Friendship Club will meet at the following places:

May 30 -- potluck dinner, UNR Extension office, Dandelion Street and Calvada Boulevard, 5 p.m.

Relay for Life sock hop

There will be a 1950s sock hop 1-5 p.m. June 7 at Paddy's Pub on Pahrump Valley Boulevard.

Tickets are $10 and the ticket price includes food and door prizes.

Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer society.

Community bazaar

The StageStop Lounge and Casino will host another community bazaar 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 6 on the grounds at the StageStop.

Free vendor spaces are available for crafters, people who have household items, antiques, cars, jewelry, baby gifts, produce, etc.

Blue Butterfly Coffeehouse

The fifth annual Blue Butterfly Coffee House, sponsored by Nathan Adelson Hospice, will be at 7 p.m., July 11 in the Pahrump Nugget Events Center.

Seniors day trip

The Pahrump Senior Center will sponsor a day trip to Zion National Park in Utah.

The bus will leave at 7 a.m. June 6 and return around 8 p.m.

The trip includes the bus ride in a luxury coach with a restroom facility and movies, coffee and pastry, lunch at a restaurant outside Zion National Park and park fees. Tickets are $55 per person and reservations need to be made and paid by June 4.

Ms. Senior Golden Years USA

The Ms. Senior Golden Years USA Pageant will be at 7 p.m., June 13 in the showroom at Saddle West Hotel and Casino.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from the board of directors, the Queen's Court, contestants or Saddle West.

Bike Night is back

Motorcycle enthusiasts will meet for Bike Night at 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays at Sonic on Highway 160.

Relay for Life

Relay for Life, Pahrump Valley, will hold the annual run/walk Aug. 15 and 16 at Petrack Park.

All money raised before, during and after the event will stay here for cancer services.

The American Cancer Society has a gift closet at Desert View Hospital where cancer patients can get wigs, supplements and other items.

Patients may also apply for gas cards and gift Visa cards to help during treatments. For more information go to www.cancer.org.

Drivers are needed to transport patients to appointments and treatments. The service depends on local support.

Scrabble players

The Nye County Pahrump chapter of Democracy for America will meet at 6:30 p.m., June 1 at Rubalcaba Taco Shop, 270 Dahlia St., behind Albertson's.
