Crews from Wulfenstein Construction Company pave a parking lot at Pete's Auto Clinic, 190 S. Humahuaca St., the same day they paved a parking lot for the new Tommasino's Fine Italian Dining down the street. Peter Escudero is opening a 5,000-square-foot auto repair business at the site. Escudero has had an auto repair business in Las Vegas and has been commuting from his home in Pahrump for eight years, according to testimony at a Pahrump Regional Planning Commission meeting in May 2008, where he received a waiver from requirements for a rear landscaping buffer. Pete's Auto Clinic is on a half-acre property zoned light industrial in the comprehensive zoning map approved in June 2007. Tommasino's Fine Italian Dining, visible in the background, is expected to open around June 15, owner Tom Saitta said. Nye County Commissioners approved a gaming and liquor license for Tommasino's last week, but he's still awaiting a health certificate, following a final inspection.
