Sabori gives free classes

Andrew Sabori, noted local artist and art historian will teach a series of free classes on "Appreciating the Impressionists," 10-11:30 a.m. May 22, 26 and 27 in the Pahrump Community Library.

The classes are sponsored by the Pahrump Arts Council and are free and open to the public. Please be prompt. Space is limited.

Avon blowout sale

Dreamchaser Ranch will host a blowout sale of Avon products starting at 10 a.m. May 22 and 23 at the facility, 3610 N. Murphy St.

All proceeds go to benefit the horse rescue.

Artist's reception

The Pahrump Arts Council will sponsor an artist's reception for Muriel Areno from 1 to 3 p.m., May 22, in the Pahrump Community Library.

Areno is the editor for Art Beat, the bi-monthly publication produced for PAC members.

Refreshments will be served.

People Auction

There will be a People Auction "fun"draiser at 6 p.m., May 30, in the Nugget Events Center to benefit No to Abuse.

Bid on Pahrump's VIPs and let them buy you lunch or dinner. Some of the VIPs on the block will be Commissioners Gary Hollis and Butch Borasky, Town Manager Bill Kohlbarger, Tom and Alice Saitta, executive director of the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce Lucy Ivins and KNYE's Karen Jackson.

Soroptimist's Bunco Night

Soroptimist of Pahrump Valley will have a Bunco Night for ladies only at 6:30 p.m. May 30, in the Charleston Peak RV Clubhouse.

This event is fun, fast-paced and easy to learn. Prizes will be awarded. Wine and soft drinks will be available.

The cost is $3 per person.

Community bazaar

The StageStop Lounge and Casino will host another community bazaar 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 6, on the grounds at the StageStop.

Free vendor spaces are available for crafters, people who have household items, antiques, cars, jewelry, baby gifts, produce, etc.

Blue Butterfly auditions

The fifth annual Blue Butterfly Coffee House, sponsored by Nathan Adelson Hospice, is auditioning for talent to entertain guests at this year's event.

Relay for Life sock hop

There will be a 1950s sock hop 1-5 p.m. June 7, at Paddy's Pub on Pahrump Valley Boulevard.

Family Hoedown

The Pahrump Valley Community Action Team will host a Family Hoedown 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., June 13 in the field next to the StageStop Casino and Lounge, 100 Stagecoach Road.

There will be face painting for the kids, bands, chance drawings, a barbecue, performances by the cloggers, and the Pahrump Gunfighters.

An outdoor bar will be set up to sell beer.

Admission is free and the public is welcome to bring chairs and canopies.

Ms. Senior Golden Years USA

The Ms. Senior Golden Years USA Pageant will be at 7 p.m., June 13, in the showroom at Saddle West Hotel and Casino.
