New rescue equipment gained through a safety grant will augment the Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue Services' ability to extricate accident victims from vehicle, machinery and other types of traumatic incidents during which they become trapped or pinned.

Feds may fund Wheeler Wash but not county chip sealing
Nye County may not qualify for economic stimulus funds for chip-sealing projects, but the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers could have money for drainage improvements at Wheeler Wash, Acting Public Works Director Dave Fanning said Monday.
