Trojans fourth in 4-A golf

LAS VEGAS -- Shane Lindemann shot an 80 and Daniel Shimakawa 81, as Pahrump Valley played in its first Sunset Class 4-A Regional boys golf tournament at The Badlands here Wednesday.

The Trojans had 427 as a team to stand fourth after the first day. Palo Verde led with 395, while Centennial had 403 and Bonanza 413.

Bishop Gorman was fifth with 436, while Arbor View had 463 and Sierra Vista 472.

For the Trojans, Dorian Patel had 87, as did teammate Elliott Owens. Josh Spradlin shot 92.

The first day individual leaders with 75s were Zane Thomas of Arbor View and James Newman of Centennial. Yongsoo Shin of Bonanza had 77.

The tournament concluded Thursday at Mountain Falls.

In the Sunrise regional at Dragon Ridge, Coronado shot 372, 34 strokes ahead of Green Valley (406). Ted Garland and A.J. McElheney of Coronado both had 69s at Dragon Ridge. Sunrise finalists also competed at Mountain Falls Thursday.
