Art & Craft Show in Amargosa

The ninth annual Amargosa Valley Art & Craft Show will be held May 16 in the community center on Farm Road.

Vendor spaces are $15.

Stand for Children Day

NyE Communities Coalition and St. Martin's in the Desert Episcopal Church will sponsor the 10th annual Stand for Children/Teacher of the Year Program at 11:30 a.m. May 16 at Rosemary Clarke Middle School.

The program will include a luncheon, Teacher of the Year awards from each school and all-youth entertainment.

Chili cook-off

The Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Frontier Days Chili Showdown scheduled for May 16.

The event is no longer sanctioned by the International Chili Association but will offer prizes for Judges Choice, People's Choice and Best Booth.

The cost of entry is $25.

Mail application and payment to PVCC/Chili, P.O. Box 42, Pahrump, NV 89041. Make checks payable to PVCC.

Bike Night is back

Motorcycle enthusiasts will meet for Bike Night at 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays at Sonic on Highway 160.

The Pahrump Singles Friendship Club will meet at the following places:

The Pahrump Bike Night riders are making plans to attend the swap meet May 22 at Bonnie Springs Ranch.

Artist's reception

The Pahrump Arts Council will sponsor an artist's reception for Muriel Areno from 1 to 3 p.m., May 22 in the Pahrump Community Library.

Areno is the editor for Art Beat, the bi-monthly publication produced for PAC members.

Soroptimist's Bunco Night

Soroptimist of Pahrump Valley will have a Bunco Night for ladies only at 6:30 p.m. May 30 in the Charleston Peak RV Clubhouse.

This event is fun, fast-paced and easy to learn. Prizes will be awarded. Wine and soft drinks will be available.

The cost is $3 per person.
