Trojans seek regional titles in Las VegasPVT
LAS VEGAS -- Nick Stearns, already qualified for the Nevada Class 4-A Track and Field Championships in the pole vault, will go after a berth in the 110-meter high hurdles Friday, at Del Sol High School here. Stearns will be in the first event of the day, starting at 3 p.m. He qualified last weekend in 0:15.9 seconds and will be in lane 7. Stearns is also in the 300 hurdles finale, at 6:30 p.m. He qualified in 0:43.16. All of the events Friday will be finals, with the top three advancing to the state meet to be contested May 22-23 at Del Sol. Also competing Friday: * Melissa Ewing, 0:17.46, and Stevie McElheny, 0:18.11, 100-meter hurdles, 3:15 p.m. * McKenzie Dean, 5:32.0, 1600-meter run, 5:05 p.m.; 2:28.92, 800-meter run, 7:05 p.m.; * Pahrump Valley's 4x100 relay team, 0:52.88, 5:50 p.m.; 4x400 relay, 4:13.12, 8:30 p.m. * Ashley Lindgren, 0:59.33, 400-meter dash, 6:15 p.m.; 2:26.3, 800-meter run, 7:05 p.m.; Ashley Rencher (shot put, discus) and Alex Anderson (triple jump) have also qualified for the state meet. Both Rencher and Anderson finished second in their respective events. |
