The final round of the Sunset and Sunrise Class 4-A Regional golf tournaments will be played Thursday at Mountain Falls, starting at 11 a.m.

The regionals -- the Sunset is at The Badlands, the Sunrise at Dragon Ridge -- start today at 1:30 p.m. with shotgun starts.

The top three teams in each region, along with teams within 12 strokes of second place, will advance to Mountain Falls Thursday.

The top eight individuals not on a qualifying team will advance.

Pahrump Valley goes after the Sunset title, with Josh Spradlin, Ryan Hammar, Daniel Shimakawa, Dorian Patel, Elliott Owens and Shane Lindemann playing for the Trojans, coached by Bob Hopkins.

The state tournament is May 20-21 at Red Hawk Lakes Course in Sparks.

Centennial, which won the Pahrump Valley Invitational in April, and Palo Verde are the favorites, with the Southwest's Bishop Gorman, Bonanza and Pahrump Valley expected to challenge the Bulldogs and Panthers from the Northwest.
