JUNE 1 ACCEPTANCE DATE Boating safety grant offeredSPECIAL TO THE PVT
The Nevada Department of Wildlife invites boating organizations and individuals to apply for the Nevada Department of Wildlife boating safety and facilities partnership grant program. Grants will be accepted immediately until June 1, at 5 p.m. "We are delighted to be able to help deserving institutions further the cause of boating safety. Boating safety in Clark County is a big job, and the more organizations and people that get involved the better," said David Pfiffner, game warden lieutenant for the department, and the administrator of the program. The Boating Safety and Facilities Grant program is to be used only for the development and implementation of boating safety programs, and facility development within Clark County. The projects should target improved boater awareness of safe boating practices and boating safety enforcement. Priority consideration will be given to partnership projects targeting improving boating safety education and enforcement among boaters with in Clark County which both complement and reinforce the department's boating safety programs. Grant applicants will be notified no later than July 1, of award or denial. Funds will be distributed after July 1st upon completion of grant allocation agreements and/or funding receipt from Clark County. To be eligible, applicants must be city, county, state and federal governments or registered as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that has a proven record of direct involvement in boating enforcement and education initiatives in Clark County. The Boating Safety and Facilities Grant Program is administered by the Nevada Department of Wildlife for Clark County. The program is designed to facilitate boating safety programs, including but not limited to boating enforcement and education within the greater Clark County waterways. To apply for a grant all eligible participants may pick up a project proposal packet at the Nevada Department of Wildlife office at 4747 W. Vegas Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89109 or call Brooke Van Haitsma at 1-702-486-5127 ext. 3213 for application material. Grants will be awarded through a competitive process. Proposals will be reviewed and judged on the basis of the needs of the Department and boaters in Clark County. |
