Mary Alice Atkinson

Mary Alice Atkinson, 81, returned home to her Heavenly Father April 27, 2009, at her home in Pahrump.

Mary was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to the late Wilford Reed and Berniece Faulk.

Mary Alice taught her posterity to work hard and to stand up for what is right.

She dedicated years of her life to genealogy work and teaching her family the gospel.

Mary Alice lived for her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Marquis Warren Atkinson; four children, Gloria Robertson and M. Gary Atkinson both of Las Vegas, Nancy Davis of Orem, Utah and David Atkinson of Pahrump; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

A viewing was held 5-7 p.m. April 30 at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main Street in Las Vegas.

Memorial Services will be 10:40 a.m., May 1 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, 1600 Buchanan Blvd., in Boulder City.

The family has asked for donations to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or LDS Missionary Fund in lieu of flowers. (04/27/2009)
