Kids' baseball The Pahrump Valley Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken League Opening Day ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Honeysuckle Park. Saturday's schedule: 9 a.m. -- Opening Day ceremonies 11 a.m. -- Orioles vs. Angels, Minor Division 1:30 p.m. -- Pirates vs. Yankees, Minor 3 p.m. -- Yankees vs. D'backs, Junior 5 p.m. -- Yankees vs. Giants, Major 6 p.m. -- Pirates vs. Nationals, Junior Sand drags AMARGOSA VALLEY -- The Amargosa Racing Association will hold a sand drags program Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. with time trials. The first race will be at 1 p.m. Blown alcohol drags are featured in the bracket racing-format program. Dwarf cars AMARGOSA VALLEY -- The Dwarf Car Nationals will be contested today and Saturday at Death Valley Raceway. Today, the pit gates open at 10 a.m., with technical inspections starting then and concluding at 2 p.m. There will be a drivers' meeting at noon. Track preparations will begin at 12:30 p.m. Dwarf car hot laps will start following the packing. Heat races for pro, veteran and sportsman cars will start after hot laps. Following a 30-minute intermission, main events will start. The pit gates will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday. A drivers' meeting will be held at noon. Hot laps and racing complete the day's action. |
