QUAGGA REMINDER: The Nevada Department of Wildlife is asking boaters to take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of quagga mussels from the Colorado River system to other waters.

Thoroughly clean, drain and dry your boat, trailer and towing vessel before traveling to another water.

Trout fishing has been fair to good using worms and PowerBait. Several anglers caught their limit over the weekend.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

Successful anglers have been catching rainbow trout while fishing from the dam.

LAKE MEAD

Stripers have been biting on anchovies fished deep in the Las Vegas Wash area; however, schools of fish also have been viewed coming closer to shore.

Few anglers are catching stripers off the shore and dock at Boulder Harbor. Largemouth and smallmouth bass should be on spawning beds soon. The last trout plant this spring is today.

LAKE MOHAVE

Trout fishing has been good at Willow Beach for anglers using PowerBait.

Anglers using AC Plugs have pulled in a few large stripers down the river. Fishing at Cottonwood Cove for shore and boating anglers has been good for stripers between two and six pounds.

The preferred methods are trolling and still fishing with cut anchovies, sardines or squid. Catfish between two and five pounds have been caught using both cut bait and prepared stink baits.

Largemouth and smallmouth bass have been hitting top-water and shallow-diving lures.

LAUGHLIN

Fishing was good over the weekend at Big Bend State Park. Fly anglers did well with streamer patterns for stripers and largemouth bass.

WAYNE E. KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

Fishing has been fair for shore anglers and good for boat anglers with last fall's planters averaging 14 inches. The department stocked trout in Haymeadow and Cold Springs within the past week. Roads are in good condition.

URBAN PONDS

Trout anglers have been catching fish using Power Bait, small lures and flies. This Tuesday was the last trout stocking for the season at the urban ponds. Lorenzi received no fish Tuesday because of high water temperatures.
