Celebration of life memorial There will be a celebration of life memorial for Richard "Chuck" Sullivan at 7 p.m., March 28 at the StageStop Lounge and Casino. Anna Rose Cullender Anna Rose Cullender, 101, passed away March 21, 2009, in Pahrump. She was born Feb. 16, 1908, in Dawson, N.M., and was a resident of Pahrump for five months, having come from California. She was of the Christian faith. Rose grew up on a farm and her marriage to Everett Joseph Cullender lasted 50 years. Her son Eugene (Margaret) Cullender of Ridgecrest, Calif.; granddaughters Turzah Ann (Frank) Fay of Pahrump and Wanda Lee (Randy) Hicks of Michigan; grandson Dennis (Marion) Cullender of Virginia; six great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Everett N., and Eldon R. Cullender. The family owes a large debt of gratitude to Evergreen at Pahrump who took such good care of Anna, and to Comfort Hospice Care of Las Vegas employees David Manbeck and Alra Webb R.N., who cared for Anna in her last 36 hours of life. There will be no local services. The burial will be in Springer, N,.M. (03/21/2009) ![]() Esther Adams Esther Adams, 71, passed away March 25, 2009, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Mexico, and was a resident of Pahrump for seven years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society and the Victorian Society. Her faith was Catholic and she was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. She is survived by husband Raymond Adams of Pahrump; daughter Carmen J. Boudreau of Tennessee; sister Mary Singh of California; nieces Gloria Singh of New York and Pearle Martinez, Rebecca Taylor and Esther Green, all of California; nephew Randy Singh of Tennessee and one grandson, Bradley Voels. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Rosary and visitation will be 5-7 p.m. March 27, at Pahrump Family Mortuary and Mass will be at 9 a.m., March 28 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Entombment will be at 2 p.m. March 30, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in San Diego. (03/25/2009) Candy L. Mayden Candy L. Mayden, 42, passed away March 19, 2009. She was born Dec. 23, 1967, in Niagra Falls, N.Y., and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years, having come from New York. She worked as a certified nurses assistant at Desert Springs Hospital. She is survived by her mother Doris Costanzo of Niagra Falls; father Vincent Morello Sr. of New York; husband Jason Mayden of Pahrump; sisters Barbara Cordova of Pahrump, Sherry Piche of New York and Donna, Mary and Cheryl Morello also of New York; brothers Vince Morello Jr., and Joseph and Richard Morello, all of New York. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael McNamara Sr. She had many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. (03/19/2009) ![]() Carol Ann Mead Carol Ann Mead, 69, passed away March 13, 2009, at Odyssey Hospice Center of Tucson, Ariz., after a short illness. She was born July 11, 1939, in Yakima, Wash., and was a resident of Pahrump for 25 years, having come from California. Carol will be remembered for always having a smile on her face. She loved crocheting and when she gave a piece of her work away, it gave her great pleasure to see someone enjoy it and made her feel as if she were giving part of herself to be remembered by. She always took great pleasure in helping others. She leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who loved her and will miss her deeply. She was not only a wonderful mother but also a best friend. Survivors include her long time friend and companion of 25 years, Chuck Connelly of Arizona; three sons, Russell Mead and Robert Mead, both of Pahrump and Christopher (Barbara) Stefanos of Ohio; daughter Susan Mead (Michael) Lee of Louisiana; brothers Joe (Lana) Isle and Ken Isle and his companion Josephine of Washington; grandchildren Stephanie Mead and Nicole Mead of Colorado, Chad Mead and his fiance Elizabeth and Jonathan Lee of Louisiana, Brandon Mead of Michigan and Joey Mead of Wyoming. She was preceded in death by two sons; Thomas Michael Mead, and Donald Lee Mead, her parents Alvin and Gertrude Isle and one brother, Floyd Isle. Graveside services are pending. A special Mass will be at 11:30 a.m., March 29 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. (03/13/2009) |
