PVHS multicultural potluck

The Multicultural Committee at Pahrump Valley High School will host a potluck at 6:30 p.m., March 27 in the high school cafeteria.

The public is invited to come and share a dish representing the family heritage.

In addition to dinner, there will be pictures and artifacts from varied cultures in a celebration of diversity.

Artist's reception

The Pahrump Arts Council will sponsor a reception for fine artists, Judy Toll and Lloyd Martin, 10 a.m.-noon, March 27 at the Charleston Peak RV clubhouse.

The show will be on display until May 1. Refreshments will be served.

Lincoln Day dinner

The Pahrump Valley Republican Women will host a Lincoln Day dinner March 28 at Mountain Falls Grill Room.

Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m.

Vietnam Vets/Legacy Vets

The Vietnam Vets and Legacy Vets motorcycle clubs will sponsor the Hump to Pahrump Poker Run March 28.

Sign up will be 9-11 a.m. at Leather Headquarters, 4245 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas.

Registration for a single rider is $25 and passenger fee is $10.

There will be food, drinks, prizes, contests, a 50/50 drawing, vendors and music by Left Standing.

The last stop is the Saddle West Hotel and Casino.

There are special room rates available for riders wanting to stay overnight.

PVHS improv

The Pahrump Valley High School drama department will present "A Fool's Improv" at 7 p.m., April 1, in the auditorium.

Tickets are $5 and are available at Ace Hardware, the Chamber of Commerce, the library and at the door.

Spring ride and egg hunt

The National Wild Horse Association will hold the annual spring ride and Easter egg hunt April 5.

Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. and the ride at 10 a.m. The famous sizzling steak lunch will be at 1 p.m.

The cost to participate is $20 for the ride and lunch, $15 for lunch only.

Reservations should be made no later than March 31.

Author's Extravaganza

The Pahrump Community Library will host the annual Author's Extravaganza the library 9-5 p.m. April 11.

Meet and greet local authors, and have a chance to purchase their books and get their autograph.

Authors will include: Chuck Baker, Evelyn Tankersley, Vivian Owen, John McDonald, Alice Nobel, Tumbleweed Tale Society, George Strictland, John Salacon, Dick Senior, Michael Hazard, Becky Davis, Mike Donahue, Laraine Russo Harper, Kay Plaskon, John Michael Stuart, Stephen Nasser, Jennifer Allee, Dan Rodriguez, Dan Dorby, Oasis Reader's Guild, and Ms. Andresen's kindergarten class.

Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant

The Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant will be held April 18 at the Maverick, 340 E. Mesquite Ave.

The pageant is open to all ladies who have reached the elegant age of 60-plus.

Dancers, singers, comedy acts, poets, etc. are needed.

Everyone has a talent.

'Show and Shine'

The Valley Cruisers of Pahrump will host the 14th annual Over the Hump to Pahrump Show and Shine auto parts swap meet April 25 on the grass at Petrack Park.

Registration is 7 a.m.-noon and the car show is 8-4 p.m.

There will be a poker walk, food, raffles, games and music.

Gunfighters at 'Dusty Flats'

The Pahrump Gunfighters will be performing western skits and reenactments at 1 p.m. March 29 at Dusty Flats, next to the StageStop, 100 W. Stagecoach Road.

Admission is free, cameras are welcome.

Anyone interested in joining the gunfighters or needing more information can call 751-3458.

Art & Sol call for entries

The Pahrump Arts Council will sponsor the 15th annual Art & Sol Festival May 9 and 10 in the Bob Ruud Community Center.

Booths for artists and crafters are $40 for PAC members and $50 for non-members.
