Cecil Reynolds

Cecil S. Reynolds, 92, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, March 13, 2009.

He was born Jan. 19, 1917, in Beaver, Okla., to Archie and Nora Reynolds and he grew up in Dodge City, Kan.

In his early adult years, he worked as a brakeman with the railroad and was drafted into the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he served as a cook on the base in Las Vegas, N.M.

After he left the service, he moved to California where he worked 35 years as a body and fender man. He moved to Pahrump when he retired at age 75.

Cecil had no children of his own but raised his step-son, Burk, from his first marriage to Jewel.

Both Jewel and Burk preceded Cecil in death.

He had four brothers; three have passed away and his surviving brother, Johnnie, is in Dodge City. He is survived by one nephew, Willie (Roxanne) Clausen of Lancaster, Calif.

He is also survived by his current wife, Autumn, who he married 13 years ago, March 11, 1996, in Las Vegas.

Autumn's family; daughters Mary Sanders of Pahrump, Roxanna (Steve) Emerick of Florida; sons Terry (Cindy) Stewart of California, and Milford "Mickey" Stewart of Pahrump; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive him.

Cecil never knew a stranger and will be missed by many. He was a very special man and was loved by all who knew him.

Cecil was a member of Pahrump Community Church. He loved the Lord and was a great witness to everyone with whom he came in contact. Surely on his arrival in Heaven, the Lord welcomed him with open arms.

We owe a large debt of gratitude to Dr. Michael Reiner and his staff and the staff at Nathan Adelson Hospice, who took such good care of Cecil right up to the day he died.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. April 25 in Pahrump Community Church to celebrate Cecil's life. (03/13/2009)
