DV Academy fundraiser April 4

PVT

Death Valley Academy, located in Shoshone, is holding a fundraising event April 4 at the Tecopa Hot Springs Resort.

Being located in a rural area, the school is small compared to those in Pahrump. The total student body for grades seven through 12 is less than 75 and because of the low number of students, it receives little in the way of state funding.

In order to give the students opportunities in sports, field trips and provide needed uniforms, the school holds periodic fundraisers.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and end around 4. Included in the festivities are a barbecue from 11-1:30 p.m., an auction at 2 p.m., live music, a bake sale, vendor booths, a motorcycle and classic car poker run and more.

Included in the auction will be a two-night stay at the Red Rock Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, a full day of driving a corvette at Spring Mountain Motorsports and other items donated by businesses in Pahrump, Tecopa, Shoshone and Death Valley.
