Robert Humphrey

Robert Humphrey, 45, passed away March 5, 2009, in Pahrump.

He was born Jan. 20, 1964, in Ilwaco, Wash., grew up in Las Vegas and moved to Pahrump in 1988.

He worked as a mason.

He is survived by two sisters and their families, Diane Bush and Sandra McLaughlin, both of Las Vegas; step-mother Lucille Humphrey of Yakima, Wash.; grandmothers Mary Houser of Tucson, Ariz. and Hazel Owen of Yakima and numerous other relatives.

He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

David James Schultz Sr.

David James Schultz Sr., 73, passed away March 13, 2009, in Pahrump.

He was born Nov. 8, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio.

He was a retired veteran who served 20 years in the Army. He did three tours in Vietnam and two tours in Korea.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

He loved his pets, going to the bingo hall and playing games on the computer.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas Schultz of Toledo, Ohio; sons David J. Schultz Jr., of Lawton, Okla., Terry L. Schultz of Toledo and Richard J. Schultz of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter Cheryl A. Keys of King George, Va.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann Schultz.

Services will be at 10 a.m. March 20 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank his best friend, Lewis Edwards, for all the countless hours he devoted to their father. (03/13/2009)

Clara Mae Calhoon

Clara Mae Calhoon, 64, passed away March 12, 2009, at Desert View Hospital.

She was born Nov. 28, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo., and was a resident of Pahrump for 30 years, having come from Henderson.

She was the retired owner and operator of Calhoon Sand and Gravel.

She was of the Baptist faith and had a 14-year education.

Her husband, James Saunders of Pahrump; sister Toni Lee King of Pahrump and God-sister CK Sterling of Las Vegas; son Ramon Vorsh of Las Vegas; nieces Sharon Holmes, Lonnie Chesser and Crystal Gonzales, all of Pahrump; nephews Joseph and Thomas Pearson, both of Pahrump and nine grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earlean H. and Eugene H. Henry and Odell Holmes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. March 20 at Pahrump Family Mortuary. (03/12/2009)

Stephen Orville Reeder

Stephen Orville Reeder, 61, passed away March 11, 2009, in Las Vegas.

He was born March 18, 1947, in Pendleton, Ore., and was a resident of Pahrump for two years, having come from Oregon.

He was a horseman and a wrangler and of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his daughters Shana Coggins of Jordan Valley, Ore., and Bobbie Tuck of Pahrump; son Stephen Jay Reeder of Texas; father Jay Reeder of Pahrump; brothers Vernon Reeder of Washington and Virgil Reeder of LaGrande Ore.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Della Reeder and sister Janice Colburn-Reeder.

Edward 'Chief' Hill

Edward "Chief" Hill passed away March 11, 2009, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas.

He was born May 25, 1969, in Parker Ariz., and was a resident of Pahrump for 37 years.

He was a friend of all.

Ed enjoyed golfing, spending time with family and friends and loved a good Raiders game.

He was always ready with a laugh and a good joke. He was a kind and caring person who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Edward is survived by his mother, Imogene Hill of Pahrump; daughter Alyssa Hill of Las Vegas; aunts and uncle Leona, Ruth, Lavern, and Ray Sharpe, all of Pahrump; brother and sister-in-law, Johnnie and Heidi Hill of Pahrump. He leaves behind two nieces Jenna of Pahrump, and Layla of Parker Ariz., and four nephews Trenten of Pahrump and Jojo, Elijah, and Grant of Parker; uncle and aunt Fred and Ern Sharpe, their children, and grandchildren; aunt and uncle Josephine and Ambrose, and their children, all of Parker.

The viewing was held 6-8 p.m., March 13 and the funeral service was 10 a.m. March 14. Both were at Lee Funeral Home on Buol Lane.

Raymond Charles Goetz Sr.

Raymond Charles Goetz Sr., passed away March 12, 2009, at home.

He was born April 14, 1940, in New York and was a resident of Pahrump for five years, having come from Las Vegas.

He loved to fish and garden and loved his family time and making memories.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Annie Marie Goetz; daughters Marylynn Iabno and Loreen Berlin, both of St. Augustine, Fla. and April Olsen, Justine Goetz and Anna Goetz, all of Pahrump; sons Raymond Charles Goetz Jr. and Charles Anthony Goetz, both of Pahrump; sister Lois Hayes; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
