RENO -- The Reno City Council is scheduled to consider new tax incentives to help developers of the Reno Aces baseball stadium finance other redevelopment projects tied to the ballpark project.

Under the new proposal to be considered Wednesday, the city would guarantee up to $1 million a year for 20 years in redevelopment property taxes to build a public plaza, restaurants and nightclubs within the baseball entertainment district.

Developers say the city's guarantee would help them secure financing to keep the project moving forward.

Officials say the downtown stadium is on track to be completed by April 17, when the Reno Aces will have its home opener.
