Nathan Adelson Hospice is again sponsoring its Senior Resource Carnival. This year, the event will be 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. March 19, in the Pahrump Nugget Events Center and the theme is "March Madness, it's all about Pahrump Seniors."

This will be the fifth year Nathan Adelson has sponsored the carnival and each year it grows in popularity.

The object is to bring senior citizens to the various resources available to them.

Representatives from the medical fields and services to the IRS Tax Advocacy group, from health and human services to funeral planning, and everything in between, will bring brochures and other written materials and answer questions during the event.

Over 50 different organizations will be represented this year. Valley Electric Association and St. Martin's in the Desert Episcopal Church are the corporate sponsors and the Pahrump Nugget will be the host.

Each of the participants will provide a gift package to be raffled during the event. Free raffle tickets will be available at each table for the prizes.

In keeping with the carnival theme, participants will plan fun activities and provide an abundance of information.

Refreshments will also be available.

Don't forget to bring old cellular phones to donate. It is an effort to help keep non-biodegradable materials out of landfills and save the environment. This year, as in the past, those donating cell phones will get a free gift.

Admission to the event is free.

Seniors wanting to learn about all the different resources, how to find them and how to use them will benefit from the opportunity to have the answers under one roof.

Organizations and businesses catering to the needs of seniors and are interested in participating next year or need more information regarding the Senior Resource Carnival, call Tonya Brum, 751-5601.
