DON McDERMOTT / PVT The 25th annual Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup -- a 20-stage, 120-mile walk from Baker, Calif., to downtown Las Vegas -- will be contested Saturday and Sunday. The Pahrump Valley is a major focal point in the race, which will have more than 4,500 runners representing law enforcement agencies from throughout the United States and Canada competing. The Nye County Sheriff's Office will have a team in the event for the first time. A preview of the race will appear in the Friday Times.
