AT MOUNTAIN FALLS THURSDAY Trojan golfers to tangle with 3-A rivalsPVT
Pahrump Valley's boy golfers are at Mountain Falls Thursday, to compete against its former Southern Nevada Class 3-A League rivals. Boulder City, Las Vegas Faith Lutheran, Mesquite Virgin Valley and Overton Moapa Valley are scheduled to play the Trojans -- now in the Sunset Region Southwest Class 4-A Division -- at 11 a.m. The 3-A teams will be playing a league match, while Pahrump Valley gets an opportunity to continue its pre-4-A preparations. The five teams were at Boulder Creek in Boulder City last Thursday, with Faith Lutheran shooting 411 to triumph against its league rivals. Pahrump Valley had 427 and would have been second, had it been a 3-A match. Virgin Valley had 429, Boulder City 449 and Moapa Valley 455. For the Bob Hopkins-coached Trojans, Daniel Shimakawa had a 79 on the par 72, 6,541-yard Boulder Creek course. Shane Lindemann added 81, newcomer Dorian Brant 85, Elliott Owens 86, Ryan Hammar 96 and Josh Spradlin 106. Faith Lutheran standout Yuki Kato was medalist with 75, with the Crusaders' Chad Kaercher at 81. Blake Hampton had 83, Braden Bennett 88, Charley Barry 84 and Trevor Ensign 88. Arden Sullivan had 79 for Virgin Valley, which had Anthony Lucero shoot 86, Justin Cascadden 87, Ryan Baeza 85, Travis Rushton 92 and Tyler Hughes 118. For Boulder City, Ryan Roundtree had 86, JeremyDunbar 88, Nick Stevens 87, Joe Nunley 87, Nick Hoffman 101 and Jacob Lynch 111. Jon Oglesby's 85 paced Moapa Valley, with Brachen Brown at 86, Cody Nichols 90, Travis Causey 91, Andrew Andersen 103 and Johnathan Wilson 107. Pahrump Valley and its 3-A opponents collide again March 20 at The Palms before the Trojans open Southwest 4-A Division play March 23 at Canyon Gate. There will be a 4-A match at Mountain Falls April 2, and on April 6-7, it's the Pahrump Valley Invitational again going down at Mountain Falls. |
