The Southern Utah University Ballroom Dance Company will perform its award-winning showcase Simply Ballroom today at the Pahrump Valley High School auditorium.

Audiences will be treated to breath-taking lifts, beautiful costumes, and a variety of ballroom dances including the exciting Latin samba of Brazil, the majestic slow waltz of Austria, the rhythmical cha cha from Cuba, the elegant American foxtrot, and the intense Spanish paso doble.

Traveling all the way from Utah for this one-night engagement, the energetic group will keep participants tapping their toes as they are entertained by wonderful music, beautiful costumes, and amazing formation ballroom dancing.

The SUU Ballroom Dance Company has toured throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, and Latin America receiving numerous accolades for their performances.

Under the direction of multi-award-winning ballroom dancer Mark Baker, the Ballroom Dance Company is one of the premier performing groups of Southern Utah University.

The Ballroom Dance Company maintains a touring program that typically reaches more than 75 cities across the United States and internationally. With more than 100 performances each year, this professional-level ensemble delights, entertains, and uplifts thousands worldwide.

"Simply Ballroom" will be performed on Friday, March 6 in the PVHS auditorium, 501 East Calvada Blvd., at 5:00 and 7:30 p.m.
