DAR meets

The Pahrump Springs chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet 10 a.m. March 8, at the library.

Capt. Daniel Hernandez will speak on the ROTC program at PVHS.

The chapter awards a $500 scholarship to a graduating ROTC senior who continues in the ROTC or military program.

Central Valley Baptist Church

Beginning March 15, Central Valley Baptist Church will expand its service hours to include an 8:30 a.m. service. There will still be regular services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Library needs volunteers

The Pahrump Community Library is accepting applications for volunteer security positions. Volunteers are asked to give 5-10 hours per week. Pick up an application at the main circulation desk in the library.

Singles Club meets

The Pahrump Singles Friendship Club will met for dinner at 5 p.m. March 6 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church for the fish dinner.

The club will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. March 9 at the Senior Center. The cost is $2 for members of the Senior Center and $5 for non-members.

There will be a two-day driver safety class 9-1 p.m. March 25 and 26.

There may be auto insurance discounts available for those taking the course.

EAA meets

The Experimental Aircraft Association chapter 1160 will meet at 10 a.m. March 7 in Phil Shallenberger's hangar, corner of Helicopter Road and Jet Place.

The Master Gardeners are having a yard sale 8-2 p.m. March 6 and 7, 1651 E. Calvada Blvd.

Sexual Abuse Response Team

The Nevada Outreach Training Organization/No To Abuse, NCSO, the Nye County District Attorney's office and Desert View Hospital will launch SART, Sexual Assault Response Team at 10 a.m. March 4, in the clinic across from the entrance to the hospital Emergency Room entrance.

SART will make sexual assault examinations available to all women in Nye County. Trained nurses will be available at Desert View Hospital here and Nye Regional Medical Center in Tonopah.
