Nugget slates WSOP qualifiers
The Pahrump Nugget poker room has scheduled satellites which offer a seat in the 2009 World Series of Poker. The final table is slated Monday at 5 p.m. There is a $550 buy-in, which each player receiving $10,000 in tournament chips, with play at one-hour levels. The payouts? First-and second-place finishers both sign for a $5,000 prize. First place will be awarded the entry into the $10,000 buy-in championship event starting July 3. First place will keep 75 percent of anything he or she wins at the WSOP; second place will be awarded 15 percent of anything won by the first-place representative at the WSOP. Example: the Pahrump winner earns $20,000 in the WSOP; he or she will be $15,000, with the local second-place finisher earning $3,000. Third- through 10th place finishers in the local qualifier will divide the remaining 10 percent of WSOP earnings by the local player; that would be about $250 each. Federal taxes will be taken out before anyone is awarded prize money. The poker room is already running $125 buy-in satellites. For information, call Sheldon at 1-702-524-3969 for information.
