Raymond A. Rader

Raymond A. Rader, 86, passed away June 16, 2009, in Pahrump.

He was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Trumball, Neb., and was a resident of Pahrump for two years, having come from Beaverton, Ore.

He was a teacher and coach for the Beaverton School District and retired in 1983.

He was also a veteran of the Air Force, having served his country for three years during wartime.

He had a masters degree in physical education and was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are his wife Gloria Rader of Pahrump; sons Judge Randall R. Rader of Springfield, Va., and Dr. Russell B. Rader of Orem, Utah; daughter Roxanne Bruce of Pahrump; brother Burton F. Rader of Hastings, Neb., 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents George F. and Laura Blanche Rader.

Services will be at 10 a.m. July 1 at the LDS Church on Wilson Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (06/16/2009)

Yvonne Anthony

Yvonne "Bonnie" Anthony lost her very short battle with lung cancer June 21, 2009.

Bonnie is remembered for her outgoing and very lively personality.

She contributed to the Fallon community by volunteering at a thrift store and the local library for the past two years.

She is most often remembered in the Pahrump community for her work at Bookworm Haven and when she managed EZ Equipment Rentals.

Bonnie loved to read and her passion for books was evident in her contributions to the Fallon library and at Bookworm Haven in Pahrump.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 24 years, Adelbert "Tony" Anthony; two children, Troy and Tina Highlen; an older brother, Duane Janikula; two younger sisters, Renee Perry and Terry Reavis; two granddaughters, Alexys Reynoso and Sara Highlen and many other loved ones and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., June 26 at Lee Funeral Home. (06/21/2009)

Mercedes Santos

Mercedes Santos, 55, passed away June 20, 2009, in Las Vegas.

She was born Jan. 15, 1954, in El Salvador.

She was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years.

Her husband Manuel Santos of Pahrump; sons Keven and Christopher, both of Hawaii and parents Hilda and Aguedo Domingues of Pahrump survive her.

The viewing will be 4-6 p.m. June 24 at Pahrump Family Mortuary and the service will be 10 a.m. June 25 at 2471 Linda Street in Pahrump. (06/20/2009)

Colleen Southworth Knox

Colleen Southworth Knox, 72, passed away June 18, 2009, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas.

She was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Standardville, Utah, and was a resident of Pahrump for 19 years.

She retired from Smith's Pharmacy.

She is survived by daughter Kalli Knox and son-in-law Bill Warden of Pahrump; brother-in-law Fred Martinez of Utah and grandchildren William, Cassie, KenKayde, Tristden and Jeremy, all of Pahrump.
