Recalls R Us

The concerned citizens of Pahrump have formed a recall committee called Recalls R Us.

On June 5, Recalls R Us filed a recall petition with Nye County and the state of Nevada to recall Nye County Commissioner Butch Borasky and town board members Nicole Shupp and Bill Dolan.

Recalls R Us will be soliciting signatures in District 4 and the town of Pahrump at large.

Concerned Citizens for a Safe Community and Recalls R Us have nominated Donna Cox for Nye County commissioner, District 4, and Amy Riches and Larry Sanford as town board members.

For all citizens who want a voice of representation on the Nye County Commission and the Pahrump Town Board, who would like to assist, contact 775-253-5645, leave a message or e-mail: recalls@pahrump-digital.com. Web site: www.recalls-r-us.com.

Everyone wants change and honesty. Show you care about Pahrump. Become involved. It's time for concerned citizens of Pahrump to stand up and make a difference.

BUTCH CLENDENEN

Chairman, Recalls R Us

What is OK for recycling?

Some excellent advice the Pahrump Valley Times could provide the community is what exactly can be recycled.

People need more detailed definitions other than, say, plastic, cardboard, etc.

Does a cereal box qualify as cardboard, for example? Which plastic containers are acceptable? How about lids? Do the paper wrappers need to be removed? How should newspapers be bundled? What about glossy magazines?

Many of my friends say they don't recycle due to not knowing exactly what is acceptable (and bin locations).

John Shea of Pahrump Valley Disposal is the person to contact to clarify the situation.

Since I've been recycling, I put out about a third as much garbage for pick-up as before.

I've attempted to get a recycling bin in the southern section of Pahrump without success. Lakeview Casino management thought a recycling bin at their facility was a good idea but apparently no follow-up was done.
