Sun Safety

If plans for the weekend take you outside, Family to Family Connection recommends the following tips for playing it safe in the sun:

* Use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher every day.

* Apply sunscreen before going outside and reapply often, especially after swimming, perspiring and toweling off.

* Wear a wide-brimmed hat and use UV protective sunglasses.

* Stay hydrated, drink plenty of fluids and offer fluids to children.

* Remember, a child's core body temperature increases three to five times faster than an adult.

Enjoy the weekend.
