Martha Burchett

Martha "Marty" Burchett, 52, passed away June 5, 2009.

She was born Nov. 16, 1957, and was a resident of Pahrump for 12 years, having come from the "northeast piney woods" of Gilmer, Texas.

She was employed by McCaw's Mountain View Resort and wore many hats, including slots, restaurant and auditor.

She enjoyed her time with family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband Steve; daughters Lena and Jessica; sons Daniel and Dalton; step-sons Jason and Andrew; grandchildren Brady, Morgan, Jon, Glen, Althea, Savannah, Levi, Ava and Ryan; brothers Roger, Allen, John and James and many loving friends from Terrible's, Sheri's, Saddle West and mostly her second home at McCaw's Mountain View Resort.

Jerry Nye Houghton

Jerry Nye Houghton went home to be with the Lord May 31, 2009.

Born July 5, 1938, in Arvada, Colo., he was a 13-year resident of Pahrump and was well known for his artistic talent in the use of rock and stone in building.

His masterpieces can be seen around Pahrump Valley and Las Vegas, his hometown of Golden, Colo., and will serve as a legacy to him for many years to come.

He served in the U.S. Army at White Sands Missle Base and worked several years at the Nevada Test Site.

Jerry is survived by his longtime friend Janet Harvey; his "adopted" daughters Kathleen Harvey and Linda (Darrin) Tuck of Pahrump; granddaughter Amanda (Chesmore); great-granddaughters Kayleigh and Arianna Tucker of Wichita, Kan.; brother Fred (Ann); sister Roxie (Guy) Talbot of Colorado and many friends and family who loved him and will remember him for his keen ability to find humor in any situation and enjoying every day he was given.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Lillian; sisters Sallie Bird and Mary Lou Houghton and brothers Jack and Tom.

A private memorial service will be held later in the summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Tracy Lee Floyd

Tracy Lee Floyd passed away May 23, 2009, at her home in Yuba City, Calif.

She was born May 8, 1967, to Johnnie and Barbara Daniel in Montclair, Calif., where she lived until moving to Pahrump in 1996.

In 1990, She married the love of her life, Wayne Floyd.

She did many things in her life but her family was the most important.

She is survived by her husband Wayne Floyd of California; sons Matthew Siefker, Daniel Heard and Tyler Heard; mother Barbara Tennant; sisters Robin Solomon of California, Bobbi Dellinger of Tennessee; granddaughter Kaci Siefker; mother-in-law Mary Floyd; grandmother Rosemary Little and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Johnnie Daniel.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial of her life was held to honor her. (05/23/2009)
