PAC annual family outing at Lakeside
By CHARLENE DEAN
Every year, the Pahrump Arts Council sponsors an evening of fun and entertainment for the whole family in the amphitheater at Terrible's Lakeside RV Resort. This year's event will start at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow evening with local entertainers taking the stage. PAC organizer Scotty Winegar has been lining up musicians, singers, dancers and demonstrations and said she is "still waiting on a few call-backs." "The event is a great way to have a free evening out with the family," Winegar said. "It's a lot of fun." Look for local favorites like the Dance 'N Step Follies, a group formed by Winegar; Ms. Senior Nye County, Carole Fucillo, performing a dance to "Tequila;" Sherifa the belly dancer and a demonstration by Fung Fu. The younger set will get an opportunity to hear "Razorback Band" perform and Brandon Smith will show his expertise at "hip hop." Venetta Frederick will perform her fire dance, Luann Zilla dances with swords and the High Desert Line Dancers will be there. Laura Ann Bush will sing, as will Charlotte Jimmerfield and Michael Abraham. There will be more, and the line-up, even at this late date, is still growing. Winegar said the event was scheduled early this year in timing with the kids getting out of school and before family vacations begin. Refreshments will not be available, but coolers and picnics are welcome. Those attending should remember to bring lawn chairs or blankets and drinks. Although the event is free and open to the public, donations are welcome. For more information, call 751-6776. |
