Family to Family Calendar

The Center has moved to a new location at 621 S. Blagg Road, behind No to Abuse.

Summer hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning June 1.

The schedule for Family to Family Connection for June:

June 1-7 -- National Sun Safety Week, information available all week.

June 5 -- Car seat check, call for appointment.

June 12 -- NEIS Explore and Learn playgroup, 11 a.m.

June 15 -- infant massage, 11 a.m.

June 16 -- teen parenting class, WIC office, 2-4 p.m.

June 17 -- family vehicle safety class, 10 a.m., registration and fee required.

June 19 -- CPR class, 11 a.m., registration required.

June 22 -- Ages to Stages developmental screening, call for appointment.

June 25 -- Nurturing parenting class, Amargosa Apostolic Church, 10 a.m.

June 25 -- food pantry, Amargosa Valley Senior Center.

June 26 -- NEIS Explore and Learn playgroup, 11 a.m.

Mondays -- Prenatal parenting class, 1-3 p.m.

Tuesdays -- Nurturing Parent class, 1-3 p.m., Spanish.

Wednesdays -- Nurturing Parent class, 1-3 p.m., English.

Thursdays -- Mommy and me play group, 1 p.m.

The resource lending library is open 8-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

EAA meets

The Experimental Aircraft Association will meet at 10 a.m. June 6 in Phil Shallenberger's hangar, corner of Helicopter Road and Jet Place.

The program will feature Chris McGill of the Alliance for Aviation Across America on the subject of user fees.

Anyone interested in general aviation is welcome.

West Star fundraiser

West Star Ranch Old Dog Rescue and SNAPS will hold a combined yard sale 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6, at 3091 Unicorn Ave., between Gamebird Road and Dandelion Street.

There will be new clothing for all ages and sizes, collectibles, gently used items and furniture.

Donate pet food, cat litter, cleaning supplies or cash and receive a T-shirt.

Please be responsible and spay or neuter pets.

Library notices

* The Pahrump Community Library is accepting applications for volunteer security persons. Volunteers are asked to give five to 10 hours per week.

Applications are available at the main circulation desk.

* The Pahrump Community Library is looking for adult literacy tutors. There are students waiting.

Adults interested in getting help with reading skills, call 727-5930, ext. 19.

The service is free.

PAVED meets

PAVED will meet at 5 p.m. June 16 in the Bob Ruud Community Center.

The speaker will be John Carich from Zee Dynamics. PAVED is wanting to assist the company, which has purchased a zeolite mine in Amargosa Valley, with opening a milling center in Pahrump.

Masonic breakfast

The Masonic Lodge will hold a fundraiser breakfast 8-11 a.m. June 6 at the lodge, 281 Gemini Dr.

The menu includes ham and cheese stuffed French toast, sausage links, all-you-can-eat pancakes, ham slices, coffee, juice and milk.

The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Proceeds will go to benefit the scholarship fund.

The public is welcome.
