Bartley, Reiser going to WSOPPVT
Mike Bartley and Steve Reiser have won $1,500 seats for the 2009 World Series of Poker, now underway at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Bartley, who is 3-0 in tournaments being played on the computerized tables at Club MVC in the Mountain View Casino, will compete in Event 24, while Reiser qualified for Event 28. Earlier last week, Honey McDonald earned a seat for the WSOP Women's Championship, to be contested Sunday. Bartley defeated Larry Weese, Don McDermott, Andy Franzen, Art Page, Jay Sanders, John Chickene, Mike Brown, Ryan Johnson and Jackie Polansky to earn the seat for the June 11 event. Reiser defeated Ray Johnson, Carl Zarcone, Harry Dellett, Ray Hazelwood, Andy Guites, Art Page, Rich Hagan, Frank Polansky and Jim Gianino and will play in the June 14 tournament. The remaining qualifiers: Open WSOP No-Limit Hold'em Satellite Tournaments Two qualifying tournaments have already been played. Another is scheduled at 7 p.m. today; the series continues Saturday (11 a.m.) and concludes Monday (7 p.m.) The finals are June 12 (7 p.m.), with the winner advancing to a WSOP tournament June 20. The entry fee is $70, with players starting with $5,000 in chips. The game is Texas hold'em no-limit poker. Open WSOP No-Limit Hold'em Satellite Tournaments A qualifier was played Monday, with another Thursday (7 p.m.). The remaining tournaments are June 10 (7 p.m.), June 14 (2 p.m.) and June 17 (4 p.m.). The finals are June 19 (7 p.m.), with the winner going to the WSOP June 27. |
