The Town of Pahrump is conducting a series of workshops on Pahrump Town Ordinance No. 43, regarding trash pick up and related services in Room B of the Bob Ruud Community Center.

Board member Mike Darby is hosting the events as town hall meetings. His objective is to garner public input and take action before the final vote on the ordinance.

Additional meetings can be scheduled in outlying parts of the valley such as Artesia or Mountain Falls by request by calling Darby at 764-0751.

The remaining meetings are today, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., for collection of further input, review, find consensus and to formulate possible action and 7 p.m. Monday, June 8, for public input, final review, consensus and adoption of an action plan to present to the town board the following night.

Revised copies of PTO No. 43 are available at the town office. The ordinance is also available on the town Web site www.pahrumpnv.org.

The final reading of the ordinance is scheduled for the June 9 town board meeting at the Bob Ruud Community Center. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

Discussion and pubic comment will be allowed on the ordinance before the board votes. The ordinance can be voted down, which is unlikely, or approved as it is currently written (see today's legal notices). It can also be adopted with changes.
