Bernadine C. Brucklacher

Bernadine C. Brucklacher, 72, passed away July 21, 2009, in Las Vegas.

She was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Brookfield, Wis., and was a resident of Pahrump for 19 years, having come from Sacramento, Calif.

She was a member of Escapees and of the Catholic faith.

Her sons James (Julie) of Sacramento, Patrick (Crystal) of Las Vegas, Jeffrey (Shellie) also of Sacramento and Timothy (Margaret) of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Susan (Michael) of Las Vegas; brothers Richard of Milwaukee, Wis., Harold of Schofield, Wis., and Gerald (Mary) of Pahrump; sisters Elaine (Robert) and Barbara (David) of Pahrump and Therese (Richard) of Lake Mary, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; son Michael and parents Harold and Elizabeth Schmitt.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., July 27 at Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (07/21/2009)

Eve Huffman

Eve Huffman, 87, passed away July 14, 2009, in Pahrump.

She was born Jan. 4, 1922, in St. Joseph, Mo., and moved to Pahrump from Tucson, Ariz., in 2005.

She was a Realtor and of the Catholic faith.

She was an artist of acrylic painting, an author of poetry and loved retail therapy.

She is survived by daughters Linda Cratty and Melissa Amberson; sons Jon Steven Huffman and Jeff Huffman; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery next to her late husband Jon, to whom she was married for 63 years. (07/14/2009)

Richard M. Wilson

Richard M. Wilson, 79, passed away July 18, 2009.

He was an incredible father to Michele Pogue, Melissa (Bill) Durfee and Melinda Wilson.

He was Poppa Wilson to Tony, Richard, Jonathan, Matthew, Marissa and Jaycee.

He was a loving brother to Evelyn Rodriguez.

A gentle soul has left us. He was a friend to many and generous to all.

Volunteering was his passion. He spent many hours bartending at the Elks, driving the Disabled American Veterans van, helping people with their taxes and serving as treasurer for the DAV.

He was an auditor, mediator and a regular Wednesday night cribbage player at the Elks and generally pitched in where needed.

A wake for Dick will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 1 at the Elks Lodge. Join us in celebrating his life. (07/18/2009)

Margie Leaker

Margie Leaker, 93, passed away July 11, 2009, in Pahrump.

She was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Oklahoma and was a resident of Nevada for seven years, having come from California.

She was retired and of the Baptist faith.

Her son Floyd Bonter of Nevada; daughter Linda Billing also of Nevada; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six siblings and a daughter. (07/11/2009)

Arlene E. Stefanski

Arlene E. Stefanski, formerly of Pahrump, passed away peacefully July 20, 2009.

She was born Oct. 28, 1938.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband David.

She will be sadly missed by her children Kim (Kurt) Berger of East Troy, Wis., Brenda (Jim) Witterholt of Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Christopher Stefanski of Waukesha, Wis.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons Kyle and Kalob Berger of Mukwonago, Wis., and her granddaughter Andrea Stefanski of Arizona.

She will be sadly missed by her sister Charlotte Barndt of Pahrump, other relatives and close friends.

Arlene and David lived in Waukesha for many years before retiring to Las Vegas and then Pahrump.

Arlene was well known for her early morning work at Burger King and she loved seeing her regular customers and spoke very fondly of them and many of her coworkers.

After David's death, Arlene moved to Arizona for several years before returning to her roots in Wisconsin. (07/20/2009)
