In this slow economy the entertainment options for the people of Pahrump are expanding in various directions. Next on the agenda -- K-7 Lounge on Hafen Ranch Road at Thousandaire Boulevard is going to start offering outdoor movies in the patio/garden area on a giant screen beginning at 8 p.m. July 25.

Patty Gangadharan and her husband Raja, owners of K-7, said the lounge will offer movies that have recently been released to DVD. She said the movies are 30 to 60 days past first-run premier and the first movie showing on the outdoor patio will be a film starring Nicholas Cage.

The film is the story of what happens when a teacher opens a time capsule buried long ago at his son's elementary school and the involvement of his family leading him to believe they play a role in the events about to unfold. It is rated PG-13.

Admission is $5 per person and because alcohol is served on premise, no person under 21 will be admitted without an adult.

Since K-7 is split into two businesses, one side is the lounge and the other side is called K-7 Pizza, those going for the movie can have dinner at the same time if they wish.

Seating is limited to 50 people on the patio and it is on a first come, first served basis.

The film can be seen at 8 p.m. from July 25 through 31.
