Picnic in park a let- down
There were some "disappointed and devastated" attendees at the Town of Pahrump's Picnic at the Park celebration for Independence Day, held on Friday, July 3, at Petrack Park, according to Pahrump Town Board Vice Chairman Bill Dolan.

Chicken Ranch: County killing brothels by attrition?
Last March, TCR Holdings LLC sued Nye County over the failure to issue the company a brothel license to purchase the Chicken Ranch.


Tommasino's new restaurant is open
What may be the most significant development in Pahrump since the opening of Home Depot and the deepening recession is Tom Saitta holding a private party at Tommasino's Fine Italian Dining Monday night for those who took part in the construction project and opened the big, wooden doors to the general public at 11 a.m. Tuesday for lunch.

Capital improvement panel seeks impact fee accounting
Members of a 17-member advisory committee working on the Pahrump Regional Planning District Capital Improvements Plan, meeting for the first time last week since October 2005, want Nye County Treasurer Gary Budahl to appear at their next meeting to provide an accounting of impact fees.

Statistics confirm: June was cool
Pahrump enjoyed an unusually cool June, in which the high temperatures on 19 days were below normal, until things finally heated up the last week of the month.

2005 study outlines street improvement schedule
A 2005 study by Tri-Core Engineering provides the framework by which Nye County plans to begin street improvements in Pahrump from year 2006 to 2015, much of it paid by the impact fees for streets.
